Pathfinders Congressional Internship & Leadership Initiative

Find answers about the application process, online and in-person training, and program details to help guide you through the process.

  • Selections will be announced after the interview process is completed by the second week of December.

  • Training starts in the second week of January the following year.

  • Approximately 4 hours per week for 12 weekends, with some weeks requiring more.

  • HinduACTion covers all costs for the Pathfinders program.

  • Yes, a 20-hour in-person training will be held in Washington D.C. in spring, for students 18 and older. Students under 18 at the time of travel can complete the 20-hour training online from their respective locations.

  • HinduACTion facilitates placements with lawmakers, thinktanks, and other suitable avenues, but final selection is at their discretion.

  • Yes. Participants who successfully complete the Pathfinders Training and secure an internship are eligible for stipends of up to $1,500 per month for Congressional internships and up to $500 per month for State internships, for a maximum of two months. Stipends are prorated based on the length of the internship and adjusted for any compensation provided by the internship office.
    Stipend eligibility is contingent upon the participant remaining actively engaged and in good standing with the internship organization and ends if the internship is discontinued by either the organization or the intern for any reason.
